Sarah & Rob- Great River Golf Club Wedding

wedding date: July 29th, 2017

Sarah and Rob were expecting rain on their wedding day. We prepared for it, we planned for it, and then what do you know,… the weatherman was wrong yet again- the sun came out and stayed out as they prepared for their first look. The weather could not have been more perfect for this couple! After their first look, one of the club members drove in with a stunning baby blue, 67 mustang and kindly offered to let us use it for pictures!

Sarah had very thoughtful “something old” and “something blue” pieces incorporated into her wedding.  As Sarah prepared for her wedding day with her bridesmaids, her soon-to-be mother in law hand sewed a stitched wedding date into the bottom of Sarah’s dress. Sarah also carried a handkerchief that was made from Rob’s baptism bonnet when he was a baby and wore some of her grandmothers jewelry.

A good friend from college married Sarah and Rob. Having him marry them was a beautiful personal touch and made it easy to include their own vows. They each had a hand in helping write them but did not read them alone. These vows included several funny things about one another’s own quirks when sharing a house, daily chores and living together. Also during their wedding, exercpts from “Oh the Places You’ll Go” was read.

After the ceremony and family formals, everyone headed inside to the Great River Golf Club for cocktails and dancing. One of my favorite quotes from the night came from Sarah’s dad. During his toast, he offered this advice to the newlyweds, “…and I hope the only pain you have,… is champaign!” Throughout the rest of the evening, Dave from Spin Doctor Entertainment kept the dance floor rocking! Here’s to the newlyweds, I hope they are having a blast on their honeymoon! Cheers!

Sunday morning bunch, on the top of a mountain at l’alpage. The only way to get there is to hike up to it or take an off-road vehicle to it (with cliffs rights along the sides)! Incredible views, great company, light naps, looking for marmot & goat sightings, and fondue over a fire. The perfect ending to an incredible weekend! Cheers to Mathieu & Lillian!
Grateful, thankful & blessed. What a whirlwind weekend in Megeve, France photographing a 3 day wedding weekend. The views, the people and my 2nd photographer crushing it on his 2nd and last time out photographing a wedding (his decision to go into retirement, not mine! ) lost luggage, fresh Evian water, lots of cheese, excellent cappuccinos, and some late nights together make this trip one we’ll never forget!

Keep your eyes peeled- more from this weekend soon! ❤️
