Melissa & John- Club at River Oaks Wedding

Wedding Date: September 3rd, 2017

Melissa and John are some of the most simple and quiet people I have met. Their focus on their wedding day was to be married and have fun with friends and family who surrounded them. The rain had other plans for their outdoor wedding, everything was moved inside. Fortunately, The Club at River Oaks has a wonderful setting incase of rain. In the large reception hall, there is a beautiful fireplace that was lit for their simply perfect wedding. The fire provided a little extra warmth as the rain outside poured down.

The both got ready in different parts of the venue. Melissa was with her daughter and her best friend as John arrived and drank a cup of coffee as he waited for their first look. Because of the rain, their first look took place on the front porch. John’s face lit up as he saw her for the first time. He then gave Melissa’s daughter a beautiful necklace and earrings for her that were made up of pieces of jewelry from different parts of their lives. As the rain continued to pour down, John and Melissa took a chance with me and took the golf carts out to the golf course. We completed their bridegroom formals in short, small sets to try to maintain us all staying dry. Their love is very apparent to anyone looking on, and if you ask me, the umbrella is an incredibly beautiful addition to any wedding day photographs!

A wonderfully perfect quote I heard while photographing a wedding, in the pouring rain, earlier this year was, “It is incredibly hard to untie a wet knot!” How fitting for a rainy wedding and this easy-going couple. Congratulations on your wedding! Cheers to the next 1,000 years!

Sunday morning bunch, on the top of a mountain at l’alpage. The only way to get there is to hike up to it or take an off-road vehicle to it (with cliffs rights along the sides)! Incredible views, great company, light naps, looking for marmot & goat sightings, and fondue over a fire. The perfect ending to an incredible weekend! Cheers to Mathieu & Lillian!
Grateful, thankful & blessed. What a whirlwind weekend in Megeve, France photographing a 3 day wedding weekend. The views, the people and my 2nd photographer crushing it on his 2nd and last time out photographing a wedding (his decision to go into retirement, not mine! ) lost luggage, fresh Evian water, lots of cheese, excellent cappuccinos, and some late nights together make this trip one we’ll never forget!

Keep your eyes peeled- more from this weekend soon! ❤️
