Laura & Josh- VIP Country Club Wedding

Two sweet souls tied the knot last Sunday on the most perfect April day! It was sunny and warm for April where they held their ceremony outside at the VIP Country Club. The water is very important to Laura and it was a must for their wedding day. When they saw the VIP Country Club, they knew this was the place they had to be married at! From the VIP Country Club, it’s a short walk to the water where a perfect blue sailboat floated by while we were taking their formal bridegroom formals. Last Sunday was just magical and complete with indoor sparklers for their first dance, cake cutting and again towards the end of the night. Here are just a few of my favorites from their day! Cheers to the next one hundred years!

Groom prep, not something I typically get to photograph on a wedding day… but with our schedule in France, it worked out seamlessly. We walked over to the grooms childhood home to photograph him getting ready with his dad and his best friends. We had such a relaxed timeline that we were all able to enjoy an expresso together that the grooms father prepared.

A wedding mass delivered in both French & English last weekend was simply magical. Lillian arrived by horse drawn carriage with her father as Mathieu and his mother walked down the aisle to start the ceremony. Day 2 of the wedding weekend was traditional ceremony held in the center of the sleepy ski town of Megeve (as it’s the off season) and a reception you could walk to down the street.

Sunday morning bunch, on the top of a mountain at l’alpage. The only way to get there is to hike up to it or take an off-road vehicle to it (with cliffs rights along the sides)! Incredible views, great company, light naps, looking for marmot & goat sightings, and fondue over a fire. The perfect ending to an incredible weekend! Cheers to Mathieu & Lillian!

Grateful, thankful & blessed. What a whirlwind weekend in Megeve, France photographing a 3 day wedding weekend. The views, the people and my 2nd photographer crushing it on his 2nd and last time out photographing a wedding (his decision to go into retirement, not mine! ) lost luggage, fresh Evian water, lots of cheese, excellent cappuccinos, and some late nights together make this trip one we’ll never forget!

Civil ceremony in France this morning- it’s so beautiful to see how much tradition is still a huge part of this world!

Lillian walked through a local market from her hotel to meet up with Mathieu, where he and his family were waiting. We walked into the board room together to witness them become a partnership in marriage. At the conclusion of the ceremony they were handed two pens and a velvet book. The velvet book how the families in Megeve still track their families- through paper… I felt like I was thrown back in time today with REAL authentic love and a love for real tradition of families coming together.

Today was just the start of a beautiful partnership! Here’s to the exciting things to come tomorrow & Sunday!!!
