Jenna & Bryan- Backyard Elopement

Such an awesome afternoon with one of my former students! Jenna, the bride and I have run a team triathlon together (which we came in 1st for the women’s division) and I have known her, her whole high school career! I am HONORED to be at these weddings of my former students! I LOVE seeing how much they have grown and changed. I am so excited for Jenna and Bryan (a fellow high school teacher and track coach) and I am honored I was there to capture their party! Can’t wait for next year to do it all again! Here are my favorites from their day!

A wedding mass delivered in both French & English last weekend was simply magical. Lillian arrived by horse drawn carriage with her father as Mathieu and his mother walked down the aisle to start the ceremony. Day 2 of the wedding weekend was traditional ceremony held in the center of the sleepy ski town of Megeve (as it’s the off season) and a reception you could walk to down the street.

Sunday morning bunch, on the top of a mountain at l’alpage. The only way to get there is to hike up to it or take an off-road vehicle to it (with cliffs rights along the sides)! Incredible views, great company, light naps, looking for marmot & goat sightings, and fondue over a fire. The perfect ending to an incredible weekend! Cheers to Mathieu & Lillian!

Grateful, thankful & blessed. What a whirlwind weekend in Megeve, France photographing a 3 day wedding weekend. The views, the people and my 2nd photographer crushing it on his 2nd and last time out photographing a wedding (his decision to go into retirement, not mine! ) lost luggage, fresh Evian water, lots of cheese, excellent cappuccinos, and some late nights together make this trip one we’ll never forget!

Civil ceremony in France this morning- it’s so beautiful to see how much tradition is still a huge part of this world!

Lillian walked through a local market from her hotel to meet up with Mathieu, where he and his family were waiting. We walked into the board room together to witness them become a partnership in marriage. At the conclusion of the ceremony they were handed two pens and a velvet book. The velvet book how the families in Megeve still track their families- through paper… I felt like I was thrown back in time today with REAL authentic love and a love for real tradition of families coming together.

Today was just the start of a beautiful partnership! Here’s to the exciting things to come tomorrow & Sunday!!!
