There is so much about Ed and Cori’s wedding day that was perfect. They ceremony took place at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Shelton, CT. Ed is Scottish and wore the traditional highland dress including the kilt, jacket and a dirk tucked into the socks of all of the groomsmen. As guests arrived at the ceremony there was a bagpiper playing traditional Scottish music. A big thank you to my second photographer for the day, Ali Lee Photography. While the groom was getting ready and was celebrating with a traditional Scottish breakfast, Cori was getting ready with her girls in a near by hotel. Cori’s bridesmaids and mom were there to help Cori get ready and smile as the day started underway. Once at the chuch, as Cori was getting out of the limo, Ed caught a glimse of his bride and it took his breath away. Cori was escorted down the isle by her grandma, her dad’s mom.
After the ceremony, we all traveled to their reception at The Seasons at Oak Lane in Woodbridge, CT. We spent time taking formals on the grounds of the golf course before they headed into their cocktail hour to greet guests. Cori and Ed’s first dance started out slow and then half way through they invited everyone to the dance floor with them to do the cupid shuffle. What a way to get people going and ready to party!! Once they had sat down from their first dance, there was a letter on their place setting from her father. Her dad passed away last year after losing his battle to cancer. This letter let them know that he was there with them in spirit and he supported them in their journey as husband and wife. Cori also honored her father in a father/daughter dance by playing a few songs for him and inviting people to come dance with her. There was not a dry eye as they danced to music in honor of him.
Cori and Ed’s wedding was such a wonderful way to start their journey as husband and wife. Congratulations!
