Love is about choosing your person—again and again, through every storm and every quiet morning. Photographing this incredible wedding was a powerful reminder of why I love what I do. Intimate, deeply personal, and centered entirely on connection, this day was non-traditional in the absolute best ways.
Rather than splitting up, the grooms chose to start their morning side-by-side in the same room. While their wedding party prepped down the hall, the two of them shared a calm, peaceful space—helping each other adjust lapels, sharing quiet laughs, and grounding each other before stepping into the spotlight. They also had a family friend help learn to tie a bow, just in time for their wedding day. Tyler’s mom also gave him a lapel pin with his late father on it to keep on him for the remainder of the day.
Before the main ceremony, they shared a private vow exchange on the venue grounds where I was sure to be far enough away to not hear them. But, from a distance, watching them speak those sacred, unguarded promises to each other was magic. You didn’t need to hear the words to see the connection they have.
They were officially married by a close friend, filling the ceremony with personal stories and genuine laughter. Their reception was a celebration that kept the party going all night. There was an ice luge, glow sticks and great music to keep the dance floor packed.
What an absolute honor it is to have photographed all of the children in this family. Cheers to the newlyweds, here’s to the next 100 years!
