Alexa & Aaron- Pavilion at Crystal Lake Wedding

Wedding date: July 10th, 2016

Whew- what a weather rollercoaster we rode with this wedding last weekend~ the forecast called for on and off showers all day with peaks of sunshine, and that is exactly what we got. One of those passing showers occurred while I was photographing Alexa’s bridal formals and as I had her look out the window her smile turned a little more serious as we watched the monsoon pass over us. But, right behind it,… blue skies and sunshine! Then- as they were getting ready to get married, the clouds turned a little darker and we still proceed onwards…. even as Alexa walked down the isle to her groom and the clouds opened up for a straight up downpour! If you ask me, it was pretty iconic, bride walks down the isle, downpour starts and then as they exchange vows the rain starts to let up and once they were exchanging rings, there was nothing but sunshine and perfectness(If that’s even a word)! Rain is pretty and it made for some pretty awesome photos and a wedding that I am sure, most will not forget!

Alexa and Aaron attended the same college I did and a few years ago, I met Alexa when she was one of my students. This wedding was one that was very personal, and meant a lot for me to be a part of. These two are meant for one another and good ‘ole Springfield College is where they met. Their sick dance moves and fun-loving personalities are what drew them together and this was carried through their whole wedding day. What a great wedding to be a part! Here are some of my favorite highlights from their wedding day!

Sunday morning bunch, on the top of a mountain at l’alpage. The only way to get there is to hike up to it or take an off-road vehicle to it (with cliffs rights along the sides)! Incredible views, great company, light naps, looking for marmot & goat sightings, and fondue over a fire. The perfect ending to an incredible weekend! Cheers to Mathieu & Lillian!
Grateful, thankful & blessed. What a whirlwind weekend in Megeve, France photographing a 3 day wedding weekend. The views, the people and my 2nd photographer crushing it on his 2nd and last time out photographing a wedding (his decision to go into retirement, not mine! ) lost luggage, fresh Evian water, lots of cheese, excellent cappuccinos, and some late nights together make this trip one we’ll never forget!

Keep your eyes peeled- more from this weekend soon! ❤️
